Father Alexander serves in a church located in deep province. He performs many different sacraments, including baptizing children, but he himself cannot conceive a child. The priest and his beloved wife Nadezhda believe that the Lord will eventually bless them with a long-awaited child, but the happy moment does not rush to come, and parental happiness does not knock on their door. Sasha continues to live on, serving God and people, until he meets a girl named Nastya.
